Teams made up of both juniors and adults converged on Capital Fieldhouse in Salem on June 18 to play in a quads tournament for a great cause – raising funds for the CEVA #VTC Scholarship Fund.  In total, the fund raised over $2,000 on the day.

The tournament was moved indoors due to inclement weather, but numbers remained steady and teams were flexible with the change.

CEVA is very grateful for the partnership with Capital Fieldhouse and Capital City Elite, who were the driving forces behind this event.  Special thanks go to Scott Coons, Sydney Hammond, and Juan Caez for their work with registration, formatting, and logistics.

The #VTC Scholarship Fund is designed to help student-athletes from racial/ethnic minorities, the LBGTQ+ community, and other marginalized populations have access to club volleyball.  In the 2021-2022 season, the fund gave out over $12,000 in financial aid.  Along with the CEVA Memorial Scholarship Fund, the region anticipates having nearly $30,000 of aid available in the 2022-2023 season.

Stay tuned to the CEVA website for information about scholarship opportunities next year.  Scholarship monies go directly toward offsetting a student-athlete’s club dues.

Memberships for the 2022-2023 season will be available starting September 1.
